The Puppet Lab’s Missions and Objectives
|
|
Our Aims:
-
To constantly develop new productions of the highest possible creative standard.
-
To encourage audiences of all ages to appreciate the potential of puppetry as a performance medium.
-
To take our work to the widest possible demographic, including remote rural areas where audiences typically have limited access to the arts.
-
To encourage access to our productions in disadvantaged areas, by fair pricing and low cost initiatives.
-
To develop language and communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to use materials in creative contexts through workshops and education.
-
To give children and families the opportunity to see innovative educational
theatre productions.
The Puppet Lab is an arts charity which travels to communities around Scotland, the UK and Ireland with innovative educational theatre productions and workshops. We make a particular effort to target areas where children have limited access to the arts.
In 2007, around 40,000 people took part in our events. More than 50% of the participants lived in deprived urban neighbourhoods and remote rural areas.
