Tam O'Shanter

Earlier this year, 2009, we had fun filming a fantastic interpretation of Tam O'Shanter, with dancing, shadow puppets and other mediums. This will be released soon - Run, Tam, Run!

Background

The show combines great music with intricate puppetry to create a visually accessible and mesmerising experience, telling the thrilling tale of Tam, his plucky mare Meg and a legion of terrifying witches. The show uses the full original poem and brings Burns’ language to life in front of the audience’s eyes.

Each performance lasts about an hour and includes an explanation of the story, the shadow show and a demonstration of the techniques used. A magical show, suitable for children of all ages, Tam O'Shanter is a great way to celebrate Burns' Night season in your school.
